At Advanced Audio Design, we treat system design as a process. Each project begins with a thorough interview with you. We determine your needs by listening, and by asking questions about your lifestyle: your daily routine, your entertaining needs, requirements for kids, and for your guests. If you're just beginning construction, we'll go over the plans with you. If you're still designing your home, that's even better. We can work with you and your architect, with your imagination as the only limitation. Attuned to your needs, we then design a system and implementation plan specifically for you.

What's possible with good System Design

A home theater could be incorporated into an existing family room or den, blending perfectly into your existing decor and color scheme. Or, we can design a mini-Cineplex in a dedicated room, complete with motorized drapes, custom seating, cool carpet, and a popcorn machine!

Components can be made visible, if you prefer, or hidden completely away. Speakers may be concealed in cabinetry, or a "false wall" that's covered with acoustically-transparent fabric. Screens can be mounted permanently on the wall, or a motorized screen can be used that disappears into the ceiling when not in use.

A whole-house audio system can be designed to meet your needs and lifestyle. For example, you could enjoy jazz in the master bedroom, controlling the media room's CD changer right from the room's keypad. At the same time, the kids could listen to Ricky Martin from an MP3 server in the same system.

We will work with your decorator to choose the ideal color scheme and materials for your home theater.

We'll design a control system that will make your system--no matter how high-tech--easy to use for you, your entire family, and even your guests.

Designing for the Best Performance

In designing a custom-installed system, we make dozen of choices in order to deliver the highest performance possible for your budget. For example:

We allocate the budget carefully, selecting the best-performing, most cost-effective products possible. We don't use cookie-cutter systems that were designed for some "typical" client.

We carefully choose and route the in-wall cables, thereby minimizing interference and sonic degradation. We choose only high-quality audio and video cables, matched perfectly to your system.

We consider room acoustics, furniture locations, and lifestyle issues when designing a home theater's room dimensions, or locating speakers.

Many of these design choices are hidden--but they're very important. If we had skimped on in-wall cables, you would never see the difference, but you'd hear it. If we had placed the speakers carelessly, you'd never experience the sound that you paid for.
